Technical introduction: Prof. Yung Fu Chen led the team to design a high-efficiency Nd:YVO4/KGW Raman laser with a wavelength of 579.5 nm in the visible light range. The first KGW crystal end face coating and the design of double-coated output coupling mirror can effectively reduce the loss of Stokes wave in the cavity. With an excitation power of 40 W, the output power is as high as 10.5 W, and the conversion efficiency is as high as 26.3%.

Scientific breakthrough: The high-efficiency visible light Nd:YVO4 Raman laser developed by our team is the first separate resonant cavity and double-layer coated output coupling mirror. These two innovative technologies have greatly improved output power, conversion efficiency, Spot quality, etc., can compete with the visible laser of the international laser manufacturer Coherent. In 2020-2021, a total of 5 papers were published in OPTICS LETTER of the Optical Journal of America (OSA).

Industrial Applicability: The team is supported by LightMed Technology and the NSTC to develop the only five-wavelength fractional scanning ophthalmic laser system (532/561/577/670/810 nm) on the market, providing doctors with the most diverse treatments choose. In 2020, it will be sold to the United States, Poland, Czech Republic, Thailand and other countries, creating a total of performance. In the future, this technology can be further developed into a dermatology laser system.
